Boko Haram Butcher Arrested, Troops Repel Attack At New Marte, Chad Border

Nigerian security forces have arrested is ‘a lead specialist in butchering human beings’ who uses daggers and cutlasses for his dastardly work, Defence Headquarters spokesman Chris Olukolade said on Friday. In a statement, Major General Olukolade also announced that the forces, part of the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF), on Thursday repelled a dusk attack by terrorists who were trying to overrun markets in communities in the outskirts of Monguno and NNPC at New Marte, Borno State along the Chadian border. Over 50 assorted brands of grenades and 11 AK 47 rifles were recovered from the fleeing terrorists, he added, and cordon and search operations are ongoing along with heightened patrols. I Have ‘No Fear’ Of Boko Haram - General Buhari

In an exclusive and wide ranging interview with Sahara TV, General Muhammadu Buhari said that he is a man with no fear, and that he was confident in Nigeria’s future. His comments on the current state of affairs covered politics, recent disclosures of the alleged wide -ranging theft by Sani Abacha, a former head of state, the upcoming National conference, and whether he is considering yet another run for office in 2015. Malaysian Boeing 777 Airliner Carrying 239 People Has Lost Contact With Air Traffic Controllers

A Malaysian Boeing 777 airliner carrying 239 people has lost contact with traffic controllers raising fears that the aircraft might have plunged into the pacific ocean. The aircraft with 227 passenger and 12 crew members left Kuala Lumpur for Beijing 12: 11 am on Friday and had been expected to arrive China at 6:30 am. However, air traffic controllers said they lost contact with the airliner  around  2 : 40 am some 2 hours into the flight.

1,910 Batch ‘A’ Corps Members Posted To Borno....Is this Reasonable???

NAN -  The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,910 corps members to Gombe and Borno States for the 2014 batch ‘A’ Orientation Course to be hosted in Gombe state. This is contained in a press statement signed by Miss Margaret Dakama, Head, Public Relations Unit of NYSC in Gombe on Friday. The statement said 1,090 corps members were for Gombe state while 820 were for Borno. The statement said that Gombe State was once again hosting corps members deployed to Borno for the three weeks orientation at  Malam-Sidi Orientation Camp. According to the statement, the orientation will commence on March 11 and end on April 1. It also asked for the support and cooperation of the people of Gombe state in directing participants to the venue of the orientation. The statement stated that Gov. Faces of APC Leaders At the National Summit In Abuja

Nigeria's opposition party All progressives Congress (APC) held its National Summit at the Federal Capital Territory Abuja last Thursday. The event which was heavily attended by the leadership of the party launched a "Road Map" and draft " Code of Ethics" for members. Several speakers at the event promised a new deal for Nigerian voters as well as a desire to wrestle power from the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP).
