Wife of late MKO Abiola wants to rule Lagos in 2015

One of the wives of late MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the famous June 12 1993 elections,  Dupe Onitiri-Abiola, wants to contest for the Lagos  governorship seat in 2015, according to Naij .com  Onitiri-Abiola claims she can solve unemployment, electricity and education problems plaguing Lagos state.  Onitiri-Abiola says she has not decided the political party she would join to contest for the position.

'Keshi is Africa's best'

he president-general of the Nigeria Football and Other Sports Supporters Club, Rafiu Ladipo, believes that the performance of the Super Eagles in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) has confirmed that Stephen Keshi is currently the best coach in Africa. Ladipo told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Keshi, who was adjudged as the Coach of the Year at the Glo/CAF African Football Awards, has justified the honour Keshi received at the recently concluded award, Kick Off Nigeria reports. He cited Nigeria's comeback from three-goals down against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on Saturday as evidence of the mental and technical strength of the former coach of Togo and Mali.

The State Security Service (SSS) has commenced security screening for candidates aspiring to succeed Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as the Central Bank of Nigeria governor after his tenure expires in June, reports ThisDay. Already, about five candidates for the plum job have gone through the SSS screening. They include Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede,  former Managing Director of Access Bank;  Atedo Peterside, founder and pioneering Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic IBTC Plc;;  Stephen Olabisi Onasanya, Managing Director/CEO of First Bank of Nigeria Limited;  Olusegun Aganga, Minister of Trade and Investment and Mustafa Chike-Obi, Managing Director of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) A fresh list of another 3 candidates, mainly CBN staff, will be forwarded to the SSS this week for screening.
